Reiki, pronounced 'ray-key' and meaning 'universal life energy' in Japanese, is a hands-on, energy-balancing system of natural healing. This life energy - knowns as 'Ki' in Japanese, 'Chi' in Chinese, 'Prana' in Indian, and 'Mana' in Hawaiian flows through all living things. It is the same energy used in Tai Chi and Yoga. A Reiki treatment taps into this 'life energy' to stimulate the body's own relaxation and healing potential.

Massage is any systematic form of touch which gives comfort or promotes good health. It is recognised as one of the oldest and simplest of all medical treatments, and has been used for centuries. There are references to massage in medical texts nearly 4000 years old.
Until only recently, massage in the West has only really held value within sport, although thankfully this view is changing. In the East massage has always been accepted as a natural and holistic activity; something that all ages can benefit from.
Massage can be stimulating or soothing, relaxing or invigorating. It can make you feel alert and ready to exert yourself, or it can make you feel relaxed and sleepy. It can rid the body of tension, aches and pains, and promote good sleep. It can loosen painful or stiffened muscles. It improves blood circulation which helps the body to remove waste products more effectively and beautifies the skin. It can improve metabolism (which aids weight loss) and tone the body. Massage relaxes you by releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkiller, and as a result, reduces anxiety.
